Privacy-first: your files stay on your Drive

Why OrbitCubs uses your Google Drive instead of our own storage bucket.

When you attach a contract, photo, or proposal to a record in OrbitCubs CRM, the file goes to your own Google Drive — not our servers. We get an OAuth token, write to a folder you control, and store the Drive file ID alongside the record.

This is good for two reasons. First, it means you can revoke access at any time and your files come with you. Second, it means we never become a data-breach target for your customer documents — there is nothing to breach because we never held the bytes.

The trade-off: you must connect Google Drive once, and Drive's free tier (15 GB) is the cap on how much you can store before paying Google directly. For most teams that is plenty.

If you ever export your data, the Drive folder is already neatly organized — no separate file migration needed.
